About Aaron Blount
AARON BLOUNT is a singer and songwriter from Austin, Texas. He founded the country-noir band KNIFE IN THE WATER in 1997 as an outlet for his dark, meditative storytelling. The band released 3 full lengths, many Eps and singles for various labels. They toured the US and Europe with Calexico, the National, Dirty Three, and the Sea and Cake. Blount’s new work sees his sardonic/laconic vision realized as a crazed fusion of Townes Van Zandt and Screamin’ Jay Hawkins on the 2011 EP “Born Fucked”. A self titled LP is due in January.
